Pregnancy: How to Manage Your Stress and Stay Relaxed
Being a mother is one of the most precious feelings in the world and feeling stressed and tensed about it is also there. A part of you is growing inside of you and you’re thinking how to provide a better life and many other aspects. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and regular routine can become a bit overwhelming and it’s necessary to manage that stress effectively. Here’s how you can cope with it – Laugh.
Laughter is the best medicine they say and it is very true. We become elated when we are happy and laugh out loud and it releases endorphins in our body aka the feel-good hormones. Talk with a friends who cracks jokes, watch a funny movie, read puns and watch silly activities that make you laugh. It is a good way to keep your body in good shape, relax and connect with your to be child.
Do Exercise
Exercise improves mood and boosts blood circulation throughout the body. It’s safe to do exercise during pregnancy, recommended even, but not all of them. There is a list of exercises that are safe and can be done during pregnancy. Swimming is an ideal exercise as well, which relaxes our body and makes us feel refreshed. There are many aquanatal classes or pregnancy swimming classes and services in many localities, you may get enrolled in any of them. There is also pregnancy yoga which helps with body toning and breathing control. All of these are good ways to relax and maintain a good body.
Eat well
There is no alternative to eating well as you’re now feeding two bodies. A body which doesn’t get good food is less likely to be happy and relaxed. A balanced diet consisting of fishes with essential omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and minerals can contribute to good body and mind. Tuna, sardines, and trout twice a week is helpful. A very important amino acid called tryptophan boosts your feel good hormone production of melatonin and serotonin so tryptophan enriched foods like nuts, seeds, chicken, turkey and eggs should be in the diet. Also, keep track of water intake, staying properly hydrated is important. Take 7-8 glasses of water every day and drink more fruit juices.
Talk and share thoughts
If you’re worried about something, let it go. Talk about it with a close friend or family member. Keeping thoughts trapped inside increases your stress levels and this prevents you from feeling relaxed. There is absolutely no harm in sharing and sharing will also help relieve stress for you and bring goodness for the child. Talk to your partner, let him know your feelings and thoughts. Massage therapy has wonderful effects on the body.
