What is Moducare, and why is it important?
Moducare is the world’s first sterol and sterolin supplement. Sterol is a plant fat found in all plant-based foods. Sterolin is its glucoside, a molecular structure joined to the sterol. Sterolin is easily destroyed, and without it, the sterol does not have the same immune-enhancing benefits. Moducare uses a proprietary process to preserve the ideal combination of sterols and sterolins.
If I eat a healthy diet, can I not obtain enough sterols and sterolins to balance my immune system?
Our intake of animal fats often exceeds our plant fat intake. Further, many people destroy or remove the plant fats by their cooking methods. Frozen vegetables, once thawed, can release enzymes which destroy the important sterolin component. Even if we do ingest sufficient quantities of sterols/sterolins in our daily diet, less than 5% is absorbed by our body since the plant fats are so tightly bound to the fibre of the plant.
What is Milk Thistle, and why is it important?
Milk thistle extract is an herbal supplement that not only detoxifies, but can be used to maintain liver health and to protect the liver from the effects of toxins such as alcohol, a polluted environment or workplace, and a host of liver related diseases.
Milk thistle has been used for over 2,000 years as a natural treatment for liver disorders. The plant is known in scientific circles as the Silybum
marianum (L.) Gaertner (syn. Cardous marianus), but it is more commonly known as “milk thistle,” “St. Mary Thistle,” “Holy Thistle” and “Lady’s Thistle.” It is an herbaceous annual or biennial plant belonging to the Asteraceae family that can grow to be ten feet tall with flowers that are red and purple in color.
Further, over the past forty years, intensive chemical, pharmacological and clinical research has confirmed the mechanisms of action and therapeutic value of milk thistle in a wide range of human liver-related and non-liver-related conditions. Literally hundreds of modern research studies have confirmed the remarkable ability of milk thistle to protect the liver and the body against virtually all types of damage.
